Hugh Alexander Livingston was destined from the outset for a career in computing, and joined Dundas in 2019 as our Head of Infrastructure and IT. His parents say it’s merely coincidence that his initials are one letter before IBM, and their favourite film is 2001: A Space Odyssey!
Whether by nature or nurture, Hugh is a creative problem solver who loves to apply innovative technological solutions to every day challenges. Fortunately Hugh also loves learning new things, which helps him to stay on top of the constantly changing landscape that is IT.
Helping others is at the core of what drives Hugh on a daily basis, and he loves to triage problems and come up with creative solutions either through developing bespoke software or identifying customised off the shelf applications that serve as enablers to the business.
Hugh holds an MBA from the University of Edinburgh Management School, and a MSc (Dist) in IT Systems Integration from Napier University.
Married with three teenage children, Hugh also enjoys playing various musical instruments, including tenor saxophone with his local community reed band.

Janette has had a diverse career which helps her in her varied role of Office Manager. This diversity includes medical administration, British Army, PA and freelance cook. It is the variety which makes the role so interesting; no two days are the same. From working on our Net Zero project to administration in Finance and HR, managing the recycling and ordering supplies whilst of course trying to ensure that there is plenty of tea and coffee for the team. Adaptability is essential as well as a reasonable level of fitness to climb up and down the stairs, in the townhouse that is our office; achieving 10,000 steps is the norm.
Janette holds an MBA from Edinburgh Napier University where she was awarded the Ethicon prize for individual study.
In her spare time she does voluntary work for a small military charity for female veterans, the Women’s Royal Army Corps Association. She acts as a co-ordinator for the branches in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Kevin is our Partner responsible for Investment Operations. At school he had a passion for numbers and sports, two things that have not changed.
Having graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in Business Studies and Accounting, he began his career in financial services at Standard Life Investments. It was here he first met Neil, who later introduced him to Russell and the rest, as they say, is history.
Kevin has always liked to learn, both at work and in his spare time. When he’s not in the office he can be found on a quest to make the perfect coffee at home, appreciating a good (non-fiction) book, and taking a keen interest in Scottish sport, from Andy Robertson to Caroline Weir and Ronan Pearson to Finn Russell.

Vanessa is our Partner responsible for Governance and Compliance having joined us in 2015. Vanessa spent 14 years in HM Diplomatic Service, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, posted to Rome, New York and Guyana in a variety of roles. Guyana was Vanessa's favourite posting; a small busy mission, being involved in all aspects of its work – consular, visits, development and political activities. One of the reasons Vanessa enjoys working at Dundas is the size of the team and the collaborative approach to working. Compliance at Dundas is very much a team effort. She believes that continuous learning and development helps us to stay abreast of changing regulatory requirements in the three jurisdictions in which we have clients – UK, USA and Australia.
In her spare time Vanessa loves to travel.

Russell first became interested in investment while at University in the ‘80s. He enjoys getting to grips with businesses and their finances particularly in the context of their competition.
He led his first team while working in a sports shop during school and university holidays and joined Scottish Equitable in 1984. He loves to learn and pass that on to others. After his professional exams he studied an MBA through the Open University Business School and managed to get that finished four weeks before his daughter was born! He has since taken various courses in Theology.
In 2004 Russell turned his hobby into a business by setting up a flight training school. He taught pilots at all levels becoming a flight examiner along the way. During this time, he retained his interest in the asset management world through a number of non-executive positions. One of his students at the flying school was Alan who founded Dundas and asked Russell to join him in its start up phase.
At Dundas he has worked in various roles from managing investments to business development and now chairs the Compliance and Audit committee.
Married with two adult children, Russell is a lifelong golfer who loves the outdoors and has more recently taken up the guitar.
